Congress hopefuls to face off in debate

— Candidates in the 4th Congressional District race will debate today at National Park Community College in Hot Springs.

The debate will begin at 6 p.m. in the Martin Eisele Auditorium in the Frederick Dierks Center at the college’s campus.

Democratic Party nominee Sen. Gene Jeffress of Louann, Republican Party nominee Tom Cotton of Dardanelle and Libertarian Party candidate Bobby Tullis of Mineral Springs each said they plan to participate.

The 33-county district ranges from Ashley County across the southern half of the state and extends up to Madison County in Northwest Arkansas.

Candidates for state House Districts 24, 25 and 26 also were invited to speak along with the candidates for state Senate District 13, according to the college’s website.
