Richardson knows score

— Jacksonville (2-2, 1-0 5A-East) intercepted six Helena-West Helena Central passes and got four touchdowns from Kevin Richardson on the way to a 35-0 victory.

After his first interception failed to provide Jacksonville with its first points and neither offense could get going, Richardon returned his second interception 65 yards for a touchdown. John Hermann added the extra point to put the Red Devils up 7-0 with 5:10 left in the first quarter.

Braylon Terry picked off a Cougars pass on the ensuing possession. Three plays later, Lamont Gause scored on a 5-yard run for the Red Devils with 1:23 left in the first quarter to make the score 14-0.

With 10:05 left in the first half, quarterback Reggie Barnes hit Richardson for a 30-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-10. Hermann kicked the extra point to make it 21-0.

After the Cougars were forced to punt, Richardson scored again with 7:01 left in the first half on an 11-yard touchdown run. Hermann kicked the extra point to make it 28-0, which was the score at the halftime.

Jacksonville finished the scoring with 3:29 left in the first half when Barnes hit Richardson again for a 38-yard touchdown pass.
