The singing superstar said his music-making process is fueled by life’s experiences and making an album “is a really big deal.” “For me, personally, when I do sit down and decide to do it, it’s just a special thing,” he said in an interview Wednesday night. Timberlake is engaged to actress Jessica Biel. He has appeared in a number ofmovies in recent years, from The Social Network to Friends With Benefits. This week he’s in Trouble With the Curve, alongside Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams. His last album was 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds, a Grammy-winning record that spawned three No. 1 hits and sold more than 4 million units in the United States. He has appeared on songs by other musicians but has not released his own music since. Timberlake, 31, said he’s unlike today’s artists, who constantly drop albums and singles. “I don’t know that I can pump them out every year,” he said.

Singer-songwriter Fiona Apple has been arrested ata West Texas town after a Border Patrol drug-sniffing dog detected hashish in her tour bus, a police official said. Hudspeth County sheriff’s office spokesman Rusty Fleming said Apple spent Wednesday night in the county jail on hashish-possession charges and was released Thursday on $10,000 bond. Fleming said Apple “had a little tiny amount of pot and hash.” Fleming said marijuana possession in small amounts is a misdemeanor, whilehashish in any quantity is a felony in Texas. Apple’s publicist, Ambrosia Healy, didn’t immediately respond to an e-mail request for comment. The Sierra Blanca checkpoint inspects thousands of vehicles daily and sends the town thousands of drug cases yearly. Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and actor Armand Hammer have been arrested in Sierra Blanca on marijuana charges.
