Fayetteville Ramay 27, Springdale Southwest 7

— FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville Ramay got ahead early, and never looked back as the Indians rolled past Springdale Southwest on Thursday night at Harmon Field.

Ramay running back Terrance Rock carried the load, racking up 188 all-purpose yards in the first half alone. Rock got the Indians on the board first when he ripped off a 95-yard touchdown run on the second play of the second quarter.

“That was a huge play for us,” Ramay coach Craig Foringer said. “I don't think we blocked it right, but fortunately he's got the vision and the instincts to make the play happen.”

Rock, an eighth-grader, rushed for 176 yards on 17 carries.

Quarterback Eli Hale added a one-yard score to give Ramay a 13-0 halftime lead.

Southwest answered in the third quarter as quarterback Trey Smith took a bobbled snap 27 yards to the house to get the Cougars on the board.

Southwest won the eighth-grade game, 14-6.

Ramay (1-2) is at Bentonville Black next Thursday at 7:30 p.m., and Southwest travels to Rogers Heritage.
