Bentonville woman killed in scooter wreck

A Bentonville woman riding a scooter was killed in a Sunday wreck in Rogers.

Christal M. Lafera, 34, was riding a Honda scooter west on Prairie Creek Drive when she crossed into oncoming traffic going around a curve, according to a news release from the Rogers Police Department.

Lafera hit a pickup driven by Gary Richardson, 48, of Garfield, according to the news release.

Lafera was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mo., where she later died, the news release stated. Richardson was not injured.
