10th-grader posts big-time numbers

Mayflower quarterback Adam Dycus threw for 436 yards in last week’s Class 3A first-round playoff victory at Yellville-Summit, giving him 3,884 yards this season. Only Pulaski Academy’s Lawson Vassar (4,242) has more.

The sophomore with the most passing yards in the state this fall isn’t Ty Storey of Charleston.

Powerful offenses set to meet

Prescott senior running back Brandon Marks has rushed for 1,137 yards and 22 touchdowns this season. He also was a sprinter/ jumpr on Prescott’s Class 3A state championship track and field team. “The running back is so fast,” Mayflower Coach Jed Davis said of Marks. “Trying to slow him down will be a big challenge.”
