— FOOTBALL UCA No. 10 in FCS polls

Central Arkansas is ranked No. 10 in the Football Championship Subdivision Coaches and The Sports Network polls, which were released Monday.

The Bears, who will play in the FCS playoffs for the second consecutive season, moved up three spots in the coaches’ poll and four in the TSN poll. They received 2,341 points in the TSN poll and 398 points in the coaches’ poll.

UCA (8-2) returns to action Saturday against No. 24 Eastern Illinois (7-3) at Estes Stadium in Conway.

North Dakota State is ranked No. 1 in both FCS polls.

Aplin named SBC offensive player of the week

Arkansas State quarterback Ryan Aplin was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive player of the week Monday after accounting for three touchdowns and 378 yards of total offense, including a season-high 334 passing yards, in the Red Wolves’ 45-23 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Thursday.

SAU’s Sykora honored by GAC

Southern Arkansas’ Tyler Sykora was named Great American Conference offensive player of the week after completing 29 of 39 passes for 424 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 55-21 victory over Arkansas Tech Saturday.

CROSS COUNTRY ASU’s Aubert named all-region

Arkansas State sophomore sophomore Kristina Aubert earned NCAA all-regional honors Monday by the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association.

Aubert paced the Red Wolves at the South Central Regional last Friday in Fayetteville with a seventh-place time of 21 minutes, 11.20 seconds, advancing to the NCAA Cross Country Championships.

SOCCER Ozarks’ Keane, Mouer named all-conference

The University of the Ozarks sophomore defense Shaun Keane and senior goalkeeper Matt Mouer have been named All-American Southwest Conference honorable mention.
