FAYETTEVILLE — Marquel Wade, Maudrecus Humphrey and Andrew Peterson pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to felony charges stemming from May arrests.
The University of Arkansas football players were each charged with three Class B felony counts for residential burglary and one Class D felony count for theft of property. All have trial dates in Fayetteville Circuit Court set for Aug. 27.
According to the May 12 arrest report, the three stole multiple items - including laptops, DVDs and textbooks - valuing $4,817 from university dorm rooms beginning May 1.
Over the next seven days, UAPD received 10 reports of missing items from rooms in all four buildings of the Northwest Quads dormitory.
Surveillance camera video from May 2 shows all three walking the hallways of Northwest Quads Building B and entering unlocked rooms, according to the report. On May 9, a clerk at the Campus Bookstore on Dickson Street told police the three men had regularly exchanged textbooks for cash.
Textbooks and other stolen property were recovered from Peterson's suite in the Northwest Quads, according to the report.
Humphrey and Wade, both 20-years-old, are wide receivers at Arkansas, while Peterson, 19, is a tight end. All have been suspended indefinitely from the Razorbacks' football team.
