Highlands Group To Host Golf Tournament

BELLA VISTA — Space remains available in the Friends of the Highlands annual Fourth of July Golf Tournament.

The tournament was moved to July 8 at Bella Vista Village’s Highlands Golf Course to accommodate the American Junior Golf Association’s KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior Open on July 1-5, according to a news release.

The tournament is a two-person scramble with each member contributing at least six drives. The tournament begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Check-in is at 12:30 p.m., according to the release.

Women will play from the red tees, men 70 and older will play from the white tees and men 69 and younger will play from the blue tees. Teams must consist of one man and one woman.

The tournament will be flighted after play. Flight prizes and closest-to-the-pin prizes will be awarded. Mulligans are $1 each with a maximum of two per person. A pro-drive is available for $5 per couple, according to the release.

Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. at Mulligans at the Highlands following the tournament.

The tournament is limited to the first 72 couples. The cost is $60 per couple, which includes dinner, tax and tip. The fee, however, does not include green fees and carts.

Registration forms, available at bellavistapoa.com, should be submitted with payment.

Checks should be made payable to Friends of the Highlands and sent to Curt and Ardell Stoops, 22 Monikie Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72715. Cancellations must be made by Friday to receive a refund.
