— HOT SPOTS1. BUFFALO RIVER The river is low and getting lower, and the water temperature is averaging in the upper 70s. Warm-water streams and rivers have been fishing very well with anglers catching plenty of quality fish. Spotted bass are holding near woodydebris. Smallmouth are in the deeper

channels. Sunfish have been caught usingabout anything.

  1. GREERS FERRY LAKE Black bass are relating to brush piles, shallow wood and on

summertime drops, and some are suspended.

Bream fishing is good using crickets and nightcrawlers, shallow-running crankbaits and

in-line spinners. The walleye bite is better using

nightcrawlers on jigheads in 15-35 feet of water.

The catfish bite is great all over the lake. Crappie are hitting jigs tipped with minnows.

  1. LAKE MAUMELLE Black bass fishing is good 15-18 feet deep. White bass are being caught toward the restricted area

and the north shore using Rooster Tails trolled 15 feet deep and by jigging CC spoons. Crappie fishing has been excellent.

Bream fishing is excellent using worms and crickets 10-15 feet deep. The bream are really big this year. Catfish are being caught

  1. LAKE NIMROD Crappie are biting around brush piles and the upper

Fourche River. Bream are biting well on red worms, meal worms, crickets and rock hoppers. Bass are going for tequila sunrise and dark worms, spinnerbaits, Rooster Tails and Flukes.

  1. WHITE RIVER The water is clear and low with little generation. Trout fishing is excellent. Yellow or pink PowerBait is working best. Anglers are also catching trout using small spinners and spoons, such as Rooster Tails, Little Cleos and Copper Johns. In higher water, try Rogues and Rapalas. Fly anglers are getting good results using scuds, sow bugs, zebra midges and grasshoppers.

on trotlines set 10-13 feet deep using prepared bait, large minnows and bream.
