Benton County officials stressed continuity and competence in selecting a new comptroller to oversees the county's finances.
Benton County Judge Bob Clinard said Friday he will promote Sarah Daniels to replace Richard McComas, the long-time county comptroller who is leaving at the end of July to take a similar position with the city of Rogers.
"Sarah has my complete confidence," Clinard said. "She has a number of years in accounting. She's been here a little more than a year working under Richard McComas and she was with the collector's office before that. I looked at all the options and I feel Sarah is the most qualified person to fill that position."
