Two new restaurants coming to Springdale

Posted: February 28, 2012 at 10:35 a.m.

Two new restaurants are set to open in Springdale, in what a Springdale Chamber of Commerce official called a sign of an improving local economy.

Bleu Monkey Grill will be at 1100 48th Place. Rib Crib will be at 1120 Mathias Drive.

"These two restaurants help confirm what we've been saying for several months — that Springdale's economy has turned the corner," Lance Eads, the chamber's vice president for economic development, said in a news release. "We are extremely pleased Bleu Monkey Grill and Rib Crib chose Springdale for their newest locations."

You might notice the CoC didn't take any credit for these, nor should they. What have they done for Springdale other that spend money on themselves to have a good time.

Rib Crib sounds too blue collar for Rogers. It might do better in Springdale.

Bleu Monkey? Sounds like it's located near I-540...on the way *through* Springdale....

Sorry, but I just never think of going to Springdale unless I want the feel of a vacation south of the border without having to actually travel south of the border.
