FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville police plan to step up impaired driving enforcement today because of the Super Bowl.
The department issued a news release Friday reminding drivers not to drink and drive.
Police urge football fans to plan ahead if they intend to consume alcohol by designating a sober driver and giving that person their keys.
Those who become impaired should call a taxi or sober friend or family member to get home safely.
Police also urge others to report drunken drivers on the roadway to law enforcement.
