Two arrested in personal ad robberies

Police have arrested two men in connection with a series of robberies that began with online personal ads, according to a news release. Three people were robbed at gunpoint in three separate incidents during November, according to the news release.

The police tracked a telephone number used during. the personal ad exchanges and obtained a warrant for an apartment at Foxfire Apartments. Investigators found property from the robberies and property from unrelated residential burglaries, the news release stated.

Police arrested Timothy Counts, 24, and Richard Rodriquez, 22, in connection with aggravated robbery, theft by receiving, theft of property, promoting prostitution, breaking and entering and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the news release. The news release said police expect to make additional arrests.
