100 YEARS AGO Dec. 4, 1912 FORT SMITH — Chief of Police Moss has requested Mayor Bourland and the City Council to grant him the right to close up certain poolrooms on Main street, alleging such places are rendezvous for gambling and young men are ensnared by the professionals and “fleeced of their coin.” He designated four poolrooms in his letter to the mayor as such places.
