— Spring Break Day Camp Scheduled

Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area is offering a Spring Break Nature Exploration Day Camp for children ages 8-12. Numerous activities, hikes, crafts, snacks and T-shirts are included.

Cost is $50 per child. Camp will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from March 22-24 at Hobbs State Park - Conservation Area visitor center on Arkansas 12 just east of Arkansas 12/War Eagle Road intersection.

Art Experience Aids Montessori

“A Night in Vegas” Art Experience 2011 to benefit Walnut Farm Montessori will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday atthe Center for Nonprofits at St. Mary’s in Rogers.

Fundraiser features include fine art from regional artists, food from local restaurants, dessert buffet, live and silent auctions and wine, beer and a signature cocktail. Tickets are $65.

Dancing With Stars Benefits Museum

The fourth annual Dancing With the Stars of Northwest Arkansas for the Children’s Museum of Northwest Arkansas will be from 6 to 11 p.m. March 12 at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers. Dancers include Peter Lane, Tony Rogers, Meza Harris, Meredith Brunen, Lauren Boozman and Kasie Yokley.

Tickets for the cocktail-attire event are $60 for individuals and $100 per couple.

Trivia Challenge Set For March 12

“Are You Smarter Than a Hog?” - a benefit trivia contest for the Junior Auxiliary of Washington County - will begin at 6 p.m. March 12 at the Holiday Inn in Springdale.

Hall Of Fame Takes Proposals

The 2011 Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Foundation is accepting grant proposals now through April 15. These grants, administered by Arkansas Community Foundation, will be awarded to programs that benefit African-American communities and/or other under-served populations in Arkansas through a focus oneducation, health and wellness, youth development, small business development or economic development.

Grants will typically range from $1,000 to $2,500 but may approach $5,000. Funds from the foundation cannot be allocated for adult salary support or to support general operating budgets outside the specific proposal or project.

Priority consideration will be given to applications that show multiple sponsoring agencies/ organizations; proposals that include evidence of local financial support (including, but not limited to, in-kind support); proposals that demonstrate collaborative ventures among organizations within the community; proposals that have promise for sustainability beyond the period of the grant.
