— Pine Bluff Arsenal sets hunting lottery

The Pine Bluff Arsenal will hold its annual turkey hunting lottery at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the arsenal’s recreation services building. The installation’s turkey season will be April 16-18.

All applicants must have a valid Arkansas hunting license, proof of an acceptable hunter’s safety course, an Arsenal natural resources permit and a picture badge before being allowed to hunt turkey at the arsenal.

Permits cost $15. Hunters must submit to an antiterrorism/force protection background check for an additional $27 if they have not had one within the past year.

Ten names will be randomly selected through a computerized drawing for the three-day spring gobbler season. Applicants must attend the drawing and will only be allowed to represent themselves.

Successful applicants will be authorized to hunt turkey at the arsenal during the PBA turkey season. Successful applicants younger than 18 must meet all arsenal requirements to participate in hunt.

All turkey killed on the arsenal must be checked according to Arkansas Game and Fish Commission regulations and recorded properly at the arsenal check station before leaving the post. Participants must comply with all Arkansas Game and Fish Commission turkey hunting regulations.
