Goodwill Gears Up For FLW Expo

— Goodwill Industries will participate at the FLW Outdoors Expo on March 5-6 at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers. The expo is being held with the Walmart FLW tournament stop on Beaver Lake.

Goodwill will collect donations of used items and promote its mission of providing programs and services for people with disabilities and other barriers to independence, according to a news release.

The partnership between Goodwill and FLW Outdoors came about through the work of Irwin L. Jacobs, chairman and chief executive officer of FLW Outdoors, according to a news release.

“Goodwill will collect donations from FLW Outdoors fans and partners, and the revenue generated from the sale of these items will fund career training, not just for people in Rogers, but across Arkansas,” said Susan Crossley, Goodwill’s director of communication.

Among those competing in the tournament will be professional angler Chad Grigsby of Maple Grove, Minn., who will represent Goodwill. Grigsby has participated on the tour for nine years, with career earnings nearing $500,000 and nine top-10 finishes, including one at the Forrest Wood Cup, considered one of the most competitive events in pro bass fishing.
