Television station offers workshops
Fayetteville’s Public Access Television will host two free video workshops this month.
“Capturing the Night Sky Digitally” will be 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Sunday in the south parking lot at Fayetteville High School.
Videographers can learn to film the night sky with and without the use of telescopes.
Participants should bring their own digital cameras. The workshop will be led by David A. Young, a math, science and computer programming instructor at Fayetteville High School.
If skies are overcast, the workshop will be held Monday.
Fritz Gisler, manager for the City of Fayetteville Television Center, will host an “Audio for Video Production” workshop from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 26 in the center’s studio, located at 101 W. Rock St.
The session will cover audio fundamentals, microphone basics and placement, sound levels, audio control equipment and multichannel audio.

Ilya Shapiro, senior fellow in constitutional studies at the Cato Institute, and Rob Leflar, the Arkansas Bar Association Professor of Law at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, will debate universal health insurance and the Affordable Care Act at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in the E.J. Ball Courtroom at the UA School of Law.
Shapiro is the editor-in-chief of the Cato Supreme Court Review and has provided commentary for shows on CNN, Fox News, The Colbert Report and Univision. Leflar’s teaching focuses on torts, health law and related fields, and he has lectured at Tokyo University, Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania.
The program can be used as one hour of continuing legal education. It is also free and open to the public.
