JONESBORO — Authorities have identified two children killed in an east Jonesboro house fire Wednesday.
Byron Ruff Jr., 4, and Zyonna Ruff, 5, died in the blaze of a Central Street home near Nettleton High School, said Jonesboro Chief Fire Marshal Craig Davenport.
A 2-year-old, who was also in the house fire, was flown to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis for treatment of injuries, he said.
Officials have not identified the body of an adult found in the house. Davenport said the body was so badly burned that the Fire Department is relying on medical records for identification at the state Crime Laboratory.
The fire was reported at 5:41 a.m. Wednesday in the small house near the end of a dead-end road behind a row of businesses. Davenport said the fire damaged the home’s living room, bedroom and kitchen.
Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire.
