More Ark snow falling; schools close doors again

— Schools over a wide area of Arkansas are taking another snow day as yet another winter weather system began dumping snow and freezing rain across the state.

In Northwest Arkansas, schools have been closed since Tuesday since a major winter storm coated the region in ice and snow, with more in the forecast for Friday.

Freezing rain is falling in southeast Arkansas and roads from Mena to McGehee down to the Louisiana border have snow and ice building up.

Public schools in the Little Rock area shut down for the day in anticipation of 1 to 3 inches of snow. And Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs called off live thoroughbred racing for the day, the fourth day the track has gone dark because of the weather this season.
