PUBLIC VIEWPOINT Centerton Opinions Smothered

As a Centerton resident I have found there is no right to vote or freedom of speech. Don’t be a newcomer with a new vision. You will become entangled with the issues that have been brewing and never dealt with for 20 years.

When I spoke freely about wanting a new mayor in office, my business was blackballed by certain city officials. If you own a business in Centerton and don’t do what City Hall wants you to do, and look the other way, you are singled out. That is why I believe a good spring cleaning is in order.

It doesn’t seem to me that the town and the people are together.

It seems as though the city runs the people. The city puts itsown needs above its community.

In return, the community of Centerton goes to surrounding towns to fulfil their family needs.

The politics in this election year have divided this town: those of us who want change, growth and a better place to raise our families and the freedom to say so, and those of you who are looking out for your own best interest.

NOT IMPRESSED BY COLLINS

I’ve been a registered Republican since 1952, so it is a good thing I do not live in state House District89. I would find it hard to vote for Charlie Collins, even though he is a Republican.

I was in the audience at the Northwest Arkansas Political Animals Club meeting when Charlie asked Gov. Mike Beebe about cutting taxes further, and the governor literally buried Charlie with fact, logic and a very cogent argument.

Notwithstanding being buried alive by Beebe, at the very next meeting, Charlie repeated his question to the candidates for lieutenant governor. Charlie needs to listen to something other than Fox News and the Tea Party Express.
