PUBLIC VIEWPOINT The Truth About Our Heritage

— I am so excited. I have just finished watching a 10-set DVD series called “The American Heritage Series,” presented by David Barton, founder of Wall Builders and an expert on American history.

I am 63 years old. In school I was taught that America is a Christian nation, the Bible was the word of God, and our country was founded on Christian principles. In the last few years our children have been fed terrible lies about our heritage and the Founding Fathers. The rich spiritual heritage and religious beliefs of our Founding Fathers have been rewritten to fit the politically correct agenda. The lies and misinformation of our nation’s history are appalling anddownright dangerous.

You may not like it, you may wish it were different, but it is what it is. America is and always has been a Christian nation. Do you care about the truth or do you want to have your own way?

Does the truth matter? Of course it does. I challenge anyone who doesn’t believe or just doesn’tknow about America’s Founding Fathers and the beginning of our great nation to get this series and learn the truth for yourself. You will be amazed and thrilled at what you learn. And best of all you will finally know the truth, even if you don’t like it.

The truth doesn’t always make us happy, but Jesus said, “The truth will make you free,” and everyone wants to be free.

RE-ELECT OUR SENATOR

Registered voters in Arkansas need to get their heads out of the sand and be careful whom and what they vote for.

Agriculture is critical to the U.S. population as a whole.

We need people on the U.S.

Agricultural Committee in Congress who have been associated closely with agriculture throughout their life.

We have a highly qualified Arkansas senator already on theAgriculture Committee who also possesses seniority in the Senate. To vote this senator out of office in favor of a soon-to-be former congressman who claims to be a farmer would be very foolish.

Voters should stay the course for the good of Arkansas by not installing a freshman senator who in 10 years as a congressman brought nothing of great importance to Arkansas’ 3rd District, nor did he meet the needs of Arkansans. As an example, he was unsuccessful in bringing in the much-needed funding for the Bella Vista bypass. He had 10 years to help get this done!

Also, we need a congressman in District 3 who won’t cater to the wealthy in one of Arkansas’ wealthiest areas and cater to the Party of No. How about electing someone with a good mind who has a firm grasp of what we need in a representative? Mr. David Whitaker comes to mind.

As I said, be careful whom and what you vote for.
