German Club Seeks Members

The Northwest Arkansas German American Club is seeking new members. The group meets every second Sunday of the month from 3 to 5 p.m. at 1600 Graham Road in Bethel Heights.

International Trade Builds Careers

The Arkansas Chapter of the Organization of Women in International Trade will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Arkansas World Trade Center, 3300 Market St., Suite 400, in Rogers.

Speakers will include Angela Marshall Hofmann, OWIT president and senior director of Global Trade Leverage for Walmart International.

She will give an overview of the organization and its benefits. Nicole Bivens Collinson, president of Trade Negotiations and Legislative Affairs for Sandler, Travis and Roseberg PA, will discuss how the organization can open doors for the careers of its members.

Gardeners To Meet Tuesday

The Bentonville Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Arvest Conference Center on the Bentonville square.

Joan Clifford, club member and floral designer, will demonstrate Floral Line Design No. 1. Committees will report on the club’s Nov. 22 holiday luncheon and auction at the Embassy Suites Hotel.

Dining Out Group Meets For Steaks

The Bella Vista Welcome Club Dining Out Group will have its next dinner party at 6 p.m. Thursday at Texas Land and Cattle Steak House at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers. A social hour begins at 5 p.m.

P.E.O. Meets Nov. 1

Bella Vista P.E.O. Chapter CD will meet for lunch at noon Nov. 1 at the Yacht Club at 103 Marina Drive in Bella Vista.

Garden Club Meets Nov. 2

The Garden Club of Rogers will meet at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 2 at The Center for Nonprofits, 1200 W. Walnut St., downstairs in the auditorium.

Lucinda Reynolds, Baxter County advanced MasterGardener, will demonstrate how insects, spiders, birds and native plants are important elements in a healthy and balanced landscape.

A general meeting will follow a catered lunch. The horticulture committee will present unusual plant types throughout the year and offer them as door prizes.

Visitors are welcome, and lunch reservations are required. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month.

Music Club Hears BV Chorus

The November meeting of the Andante Music Club will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 2 in the chapel of First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive in Bella Vista. The Bella Vista Women’s Chorus, under the direction of Larry Zehring, will sing music by American composers. The Andante Club is affiliated with the American Federation of Music Clubs.

Book Club Reviews ‘Winter’s Bone’

The Bella Vista Welcome Book Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 5 at the home of Judy Sullivan, 6 Keri Place.

Sheila Morgan will review the book “Winter’s Bone” by Ozark author Daniel Woodrell.

Stories Told To Mystery Club

The Whodunits Mystery Club will meet at noon Nov. 6 at the Restaurant on the Corner, 3582 N.

Arkansas 112 in Fayetteville to hear Cristi Beaumont, a deputy public defender for Washington and Madison counties. She has defended and prosecuted thousands of cases, including more than 50 jury trials, some for capital murder. Beaumont will tell about experiences as a former law enforcement instructor, deputy prosecutor and assistant district attorney.

The Whodunits Mystery Club is for anyone interested in crime, investigation and how the law works. Newcomers are welcome.

Christian Women Hear Woodcarver

Don Effinger from the Bella Vista Woodcarvers Club will be featured at the Nov. 9 Christian Women’s Club brunch. Coleen Johnson will speak on “Overcoming Life’s Adversities with Peace.” The brunch meeting is held the second Tuesday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bella Vista Country Club. The cost is $11.50.
