Four Arrested Face Burglary Charges

— Washington County deputies arrested four people in connection with a commercial burglary in Winslow on Friday.

Washington County deputies stopped a white pickup on Hogeye Road about 1:30 a.m. for failing to signal a turn. According to a preliminary arrest report, a deputy noticed several rolls of electrical wiring and copper tubing in the bed of a pickup. He also found a construction saw, boxes of unopened motor oil and street signs, the report stated.

The occupants of the vehicle and their related charges include:

• Brent Burgess, 20, of 18600 Rock Springs Road in Lincoln, theft of property, commercial burglary, driving on a suspended license, no seat belt, no brake light and two counts of failure to appear.

• Chandler Burgess, 24, of 18728 King Road in Siloam Springs, commercial burglary and theft of property, along with misdemeanor failure to appear.

• Rachael Ashcroft, 19, of 14899 Tomato Road in West Fork and Natasha Wampler, 18, of 299 Wallace St. in Prairie Grove, commercial burglary and theft of property.

Ashcroft told investigators that Brent Chandler wanted to steal items from his father’s shop, located at 10161 East Arkansas 156 in West Fork, so he could sell them to pay off fines and buy a bus ticket to Louisiana. The two girls said they watched as Brent and Chandler Burgess loaded the items into the truck.

All four were arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center. They’re expected to make their first appearance in Washington County Circuit Court on Monday.
