Betty Swigart

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. — Betty Elaine Swigart, 65, of Coffeyville, Kan., previously of Rogers, died July 26, 2010, at the Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kan. She was born Nov. 16, 1944, in Gravity, Iowa, to Ralph Oren and VaDonna Pearle Lucas Price.

She operated a beauty shop for many years, was a department manager for Walmart and did secretarial work at S&W Sales.

Survivors include her husband, Keith; a daughter, Sonja Wells of Coffeyville; two sons, Marty Swigart of Garfield and Michael Swigart of Seligman, Mo.; three sisters; four brothers; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Grace Fellowship.

Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville.

Margaret L. Robinson

SILOAM SPRINGS — Margaret L. Robinson, 88, of Siloam Springs and formerly of Springdale, Ark., passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, in Siloam Springs, Ark. Mrs. Robinson was born May 12, 1922, in Liberal, Kan., to John Williams and Hazel Adams Williams.

After graduating from high school, she attended Jefferson Davis School of Nursing and graduated in 1934 as a registered nurse. On April 20, 1944, she joined the Army Nurses Corps. After VJDay she spent most of her time in India, where she helped care for Japanese POWs. Margaret was discharged from service on Feb. 20, 1946; she then attended Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in Newark, N.J., for a post-graduate course in maternity nursing.

After leaving NJU, she went to work at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, as a charge nurse on the maternity floor. During that time, she married Marcellus (Red) Robinson on Dec. 19, 1948. She had three children from 1950-1954; in 1955 the family moved to Morrow, Ark., and after Red retired, they moved to Springdale, Ark. In 1960, Margaret started working at Washington Regional Medical Center as a supervisor. After nine years, in 1969 she joined the staff at the Vocational Technical School as an instructor of practical nursing, and was there for 18 years and then retired. After she retired, she did an independent course of study through Stephens College at Columbia, Mo., and earned a B.A. degree in health education. Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Springdale, Ark.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann Cherry and husband Elzie of Colcord, Okla., Marsh Babb and husband Dale of McGuire, Texas; one son, John Robinson and wife Carmelita of the home; 11 grandchildren, Rebecca and Rachel Cherry, Joshua and Light Robinson, Michael and Aaron Bauer, Terry, Heather and Joshua Babb, Debbie Jones and Marianne Tyre; 13 great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Marcellus; her parents; and a sister, Gracie Gutkowski, and a brother, Robert Williams, both of Fort Worth, Texas.

Visitation for Mrs. Robinson will be held at the funeral home today, July 30, 2010, from 4 to 8 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, Ark., on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Isaac McBride will officiate the service under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.

Harold Franklin Partlo

GENTRY — Harold Franklin Partlo, 78, of Gentry died July 29, 2010, at Quail Ridge Living Center in West Siloam Springs, Okla. He was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Mamie, Mich., to Harvey and Sylvia Aba Partlo.

He was a retired plumber for Bears Rooter and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; two daughters, Barbara Partlo of Burbank, Calif., and Belinda Ward of Pea Ridge; two brothers; and two grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

C. Mitchell Webb

PEA RIDGE — C. Mitchell Webb, 96, a lifetime resident of Pea Ridge, passed away July 27, 2010, at Bradford House Nursing Center in Bentonville. He was born Oct. 13, 1913, near Seligman, Mo., to Ernest Webb and Jenny Pearl Mitchell Webb.

He grew up near Pea Ridge. In the early 1930s he was co-owner of the Jacket General Store at Jacket, Mo. He was a successful dairy farmer and later raised stock cattle. He served 20 years on the board of directors of Arvest Bank in Pea Ridge, served several years as justice of the peace with the Benton County Quorum Court, and on the Benton County Soil and Water Conservation District Board. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pea Ridge, where he served many years as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Roller Webb; and a sister, Ora Wood.

Survivors are his brother, Olen Webb and wife, Joan, of Rogers; his sister, Mary Lou Rakes and husband, Richard, of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with Pastor Rick Booyer officiating.

Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Earl Wayne Boen

GARFIELD — Earl Wayne Boen, 61, of Garfield, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at his home. Earl was born Nov. 26, 1948, in Fort Smith, Ark., to the late Darrell Albert and Modena (Wilks) Boen.

Earl was a veteran, serving in the Marines during the Vietnam era. He was a lifetime member of the DAV Chapter 53 and American Legion Post 100, also serving on their honor guard. He was also active in the Democratic Party, serving as an election sheriff in Avoca.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Edward Boen.

Survivors include his loving wife, JoAnn, of the home; one son, Earl Boen of Rolla, Mo.; one daughter, Melissa Boen of the home; one brother, Richard Boen of Garfield; one sister, Janette Bell of Pea Ridge; and one grandson, Nick Bailey, of the home.

Services for Earl will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, with burial to follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be today, July 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Laurence ‘Ozzie’ Keller

CENTERTON — Laurence “Ozzie” Keller, age 83, a longtime resident of Centerton, Ark., passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark., with his family at his side. Laurence was born in Farmington, Iowa, on Aug. 26, 1926, to Sydney and Laura (Miller) Keller.

On June 15, 1947, he married Jean V. Munford and they were married for over 62 years before her death in 2009. Laurence served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Laurence was a big Arkansas Razorbacks fan. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and going out to eat with his family.

Preceded in death by his wife, Jean V. (Munford) Keller; his parents, Sydney and Laura Keller; one son, Larry D. Keller; four brothers; and one sister.

Laurence is survived by one daughter, Connie J. Cloe of Rogers, Ark.; one sister, Mary Roberts and husband, Bill, of Burlington, Iowa; two grandchildren, Lynette Cloe-Grant and husband, Donald, of Fort Worth, Texas, Joseph Cloe and wife, Kathie, of Rogers, Ark.; five great-grandchildren, Jason, Samantha, Kelsie, Hannah and Hailey; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives; and many friends.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Benton County Memorial Park (3800 W. Walnut, Rogers, AR 72758) with the Rev. Blake Lasater officiating.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 31, 2010, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Benton County Memorial Park.
