— Polls opened Tuesday in Oklahoma with voters turning out for the primary election that will see several political heavyweights on the ballot looking to replace outgoing Democratic Gov. Brad Henry.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Looking for the Democratic nomination are Attorney General Drew Edmondson and Lt. Gov. Jari Askins. Each is giving up relatively safe seat to run for governor, giving Republicans a shot at a statewide sweep of major offices.

On the Republican side, U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin will face state Sen. Randy Brogdon of Owasso and two lesser-known candidates, Oklahoma City-area businessmen Roger Jackson and Robert Hubbard.

Fallin's open congressional seat also has drawn a crowded field of seven Republicans, two Democrats and two independents.
