LOWELL

Oleta Mae Keck Clardy, 70, a resident of Lowell, Ark., passed away July 25, 2010, in Springdale, Ark. She was born Nov. 13, 1939, at Bug Scuffle, Ark., the daughter of Owen and Sarah Ellen Brewer Keck.

She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Rogers, Ark., where she was also a member of the Women’s Bible Study.

She was employed by Cooper Industries (Kearny Operations) for 34 years. After her retirement, she worked part-time at Stevette’s Fine Fashions in Rogers, Ark., as a sales clerk and alteration specialist. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Roy Lee Keck.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Clardy, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Lynna and Steve Williams, of Lowell, Ark.; two sisters, Phyllis McAdoo and Linda McKee, both of West Fork, Ark.; and two grandchildren, Tyler Williams and Brooklyn Williams, both of Lowell, Ark.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. this evening at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Ark.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the First Christian Church, 13th and Oak St., Rogers, Ark., with Shawn Wallace and Ronny Nowell officiating.

Graveside services will be held at the Bug Scuffle Cemetery at 4 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy McAdoo, Owen Ray McAdoo, Steven Harrison, Wesley Harrison, Chad Harrison and Roy Owen Keck.

PEA RIDGE

Peggy Jean Beasley Quarles, age 48, of Pea Ridge, died July 24, 2010, in Pea Ridge. She was born Nov. 14, 1961, in Anaheim, Calif., the daughter of Sidney Eugene and Letha Caton Beasley.

She had worked in the field of optometry and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, listening to music and playing with her grandchildren. She was preceded by a daughter, Jamie White, in 2002.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Jerry Quarles, of the home; her parents, Eugene and Letha Beasley of Springdale; three sons, Jeremy Quarles and Kelly of Bella Vista, Justin Quarles of California and Michael Eric Quarles of Texas; one daughter, Danita Vaughan and Jeff of Bentonville; one brother, Johnny E. Beasley of Siloam Springs; three sisters, Jody Burleson of Everett, Wash., Jackie Vancleave of Lowell and Donna Bryant of Truman, Ark.; three grandchildren, Michael Vaughan, David Vaughan and Michelle Quarles.

Della Mae Crites, a longtime resident of Springdale, gracefully passed away at home with her family at her side on Saturday, July 24, 2010. She was born June 2, 1923, in Muskogee, Okla., to Howell Sterling and Eunice Mae Paris Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph T. Crites; and her two sons, John H. Crites and Ralph “Ted” Crites Jr.

Della and Ralph touched many lives as the owners of the Springdale Roller Rink and the Starlight Roller Rink in Sapulpa for several years.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Crites Warford and husband, Fred, of Springdale; daughter-in-law, Peggy Langston Crites of Sapulpa, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Janell Crites of Springdale; seven grandchildren, Julie Crites Barnes and husband, Ric, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Polly Crites Sneed and husband, Tom, of Bolivar, Mo., Lisa Warford Henderson and husband, Richie, of Springdale, Cathy Crites Robertson and husband, Ken, of Springdale, Teresa Warford Lawson of Springdale, Nicole Crites Morrall and husband, Kurt, of Rogers, Adam Crites and wife, Sarah Miller Crites, of Springdale; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Family members would like to thank the ladies at Washington Regional Hospice for their loving care.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Sisco Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Chris Miller officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Bluff Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Adam Crites, Rick Barnes, Tom Sneed, Richie Henderson, Ken Robertson and Kurt Morrall. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Warford and Jimmy Don Warford.

Don Shackelford, 63, of Springdale, died July 22, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice. He was born Feb. 17, 1947, in Harrison, Ark., to Alfred Don Shackelford and Dorothy M. Cobb Shackelford.

He was co-owner and operator of Shackelford Upholstery in Springdale.

He is survived by his wife, Lynette Langbein Shackelford, whom he married July 3, 1964; his mother, Dorothy Smith of Lowell; one son, Steven Ray Shackelford and wife, Rhonda, of Springdale; one daughter, Christina Smith and husband, David, of Amarillo, Texas; three brothers, Lonnie Shackelford of Fayetteville, and Tim Shackelford and Gary Shackelford, both of Springdale; two sisters, Jeannette Heithold of Johnson and Donna Wilson of Nob Hill; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. today, July 27, 2010, at Silent Grove Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

FAYETTEVILLE

Donald R. Gregg, 55, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, in Springdale. He was born Sept. 3, 1954, in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Clarence R. and Mary B. Parker Gregg.

He was a truck driver for Arkhola Sand and Gravel and attended Highland Park Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen C. Gregg, of the home, to whom he married Feb. 24, 1973; one son, Steven R. Gregg of the home; one daughter, Nikole Gregg and fiancé, Gary Jackson, of the home; one brother, Danny Gregg of Rogers, Ark.; five grandchildren, Steven Jr., Trevor, Dillon, Madilyn and Ben.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.

LOWELL

Billy Ray Ames, age 84, of Lowell, died July 23, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. He was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Eureka Springs, Ark., the son of Charles Fred and Rena Hill Ames.

He was of the Baptist faith and attended Elmdale Baptist Church. Mr. Ames was retired from furniture sales and at one time owned a car wash. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1946. He enjoyed his grandkids, fishing and hunting and spending time with his family.

Mr. Ames is survived by his wife of 64 years, Louise Stout Ames; two sons: Phillip Ames and Cheryl of Rogers and Stephen Ames and Tammy of Springdale; one daughter: Carolyn Morris and Gary of Springdale; four brothers: Leroy Ames and Jimmy Ames both of Springdale, Raymond Ames of Eureka Springs, and Ted Ames of West Richland, Wash.; two sisters: Mary Ann Lee of Springdale and Reva June Leisure of Bentonville; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at Memorial Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010, with Rev. Tom Shaw and Gary Morris officiating, with burial following in Bluff Cemetery.
