The official Atlantic Basin hurricane season starts June 1 and ends Nov. 30 every year. According to the National Hurricane Center, the peak of the season is from mid-August to late October. The hurricane season was incorrectly described in an article Sunday about how Tropical Storm Bonnie affected work on BP’s damaged oil well.

Former CIA Director Michael Hayden believes that Iran’s push toward acquiring a nuclear program “seems inexorable,” a spokesman for him said, clarifying a response Hayden made on CNN’s State of the Union. Host Candy Crowley commented that Iran appeared to be trying to get nuclear capability and then asked, “If it should, is there any alternative to taking out their facilities?” Hayden responded, “It seems inexorable, doesn't it?” An Associated Press article Monday incorrectly stated he was referring to a U.S. strike on Iran.
