Ermey To Attend Knife Show

EVENT TO RUN FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

— R. Lee Ermey, better known as Gunny from the movie “Full Metal Jacket” will be at the third annual A.G. Russell Knife Event on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Ermey now appears on The History Channel’s “Mail Call” series.

The show is Friday through Sunday at the Embassy Suites and John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers. More than 100 makers of handmade knives, 22 of the top U.S. knife manufacturers and 12 suppliers of handle material, blade steel and other components for making knives will have items on display and for sale, according to a news release.

Exhibitors will include Ed Brandsey, Tim Britton, Joel Chamblin, Jim Crowell, Steve Culver, Don Hethcoat, Billy Mace Imel, Bill Johnson, Pete Moon, Keith Murr, Larry Page, Rusty Preston, Mike Tyre, Ed and Tanya Van Hoy, Steve Voorhis, Dietmar Kressler from Germany and Melvin Watanabe from Hawaii.

Manufacturers who will exhibit include Al Mar Knives, Benchmade Knives, Boker USA, BUCK Knives, Busse Combat Knives, Canal Street Cutlery, CAS Hanwei, Columbia River Knife & Tool, Gerber, Great Eastern Cutlery, Hallmark Cutlery, Ka-Bar, Kershaw Knives, Leatherman Tools, Queen Cutlery and Ontario Knives, Santa Fe Stoneworks, SOG Specialty Knives, Spyderco and Yellowhorse Collectibles where David Yellowhorse will demonstrate his work.

Show hours are from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday with VIP admission beginning at noon; from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission is $10 for one day for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 16. There are special rates for multiday admission, VIP admission and for a Saturday night barbecue. For rates and more show information, www.knifeevent.com.
