PUBLIC VIEWPOINT Memory Will Serve This Voter

Yes, I will remember in November.

I will remember that the Pilgrims, and many others who came to this great country and founded this United States, came to escape religious persecution and statemandated religion. They felt so strongly about this that the First Amendment decrees that the “congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” I will not support any candidate that advocates that any religion is better or worse than any other.

This is a free country.

I will remember that many ethnic peoples and nationalities came for many varied reasons, but mostly to better themselves. They brought with them their culture and language. Italians, Greeks,Germans, Poles, Irish - the list goes on and on. They often were abused by those already here and forced to take the jobs that no one else wanted. They lived in their own communities and spoke their native tongue. For example, inorder to be a telephone operator in Cincinnati, Ohio, before World War I, you had to be fluent in German as well as English, because German was the most common language in Southwest Ohio. Learning a new language is often very difficult, especially for adults. To mandate that only one language be official in this country belies the fact that we are many.

I will not support any candidate that advocates only English as our language.

I will remember in November that the American health-care costs per capita are greater than any of the western industrialized nations. That Americans pay $5,711 per capita for health care annually while the French pay $3,048 for better care. Canada pays $2,998;

Australia pays $2,886; the United Kingdom pays $2,318 and Japan pays $2,249. When insurancecosts $1,200 per month for a family and they only make $3,200 ($2,750 after taxes), insurance is not affordable. The alternative for them is to go to the emergency room and have the hospital write off the costs which you and I thenhave to pay because the hospital is not a charity and must make enough to pay their costs. We have to get real about true health care reform, not the watered down legislation that was passed. If the Canadian system is so bad, why do so many Americans illegally import their medications from Canada?

Yes, I will remember. Remember the hateful rhetoric spewing from the mouths of those who belittle the president while completely disregarding the despicable lies that his predecessor spewed regarding weapons of mass destruction and atomic energy programs that never existed. This was only so he could justify a war.

He planned a war to be his great achievement but failed to plan for peace. For that we are still mired in a quagmire in which we never should have ventured.

Yes, I remember and will not support such evil people as those who espouse to be the Republican Party today.
