AUSTIN - Walter "Red" Jackson Jr., 71, of Austin died Friday Sept. 25, 2009. He was born May 18, 1938 to Walter "Buck" and Allie Jackson. He was an instrumental member of his community, as evidenced by his role in the establishment of the Tri Community Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille; and his son, David. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn (Eric) Harbort of Ward; his son, Walter Ray (Angela) Jackson of Sasakwa, Okla.; one brother and two sisters, J.D. Jackson and Clarice Fonville, both of North Little Rock, and Gladys Rollins of North Little Rock; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. • BEEBE - John Joseph "Jack" Olivo, 71, of Beebe, Ark., was born Feb. 14, 1938, to John and Caroline (Ahrens) Olivo, and he died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009. Jack was retired from Illinois Bell Telephone. He was a member of Harrison Chapel Baptist Church, which he loved. He had a heart for volunteerism and helping others. He most recently was involved with Mannafest Blessings Food Bank and White County Aging Program where he delivered Meals on Wheels.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Larson.

He is survived by his wife, Faith (Deel) Olivo; two sons, Don Olivo and wife, Saleslie of Searcy, and Dale Olivo and wife, Judy of Beebe; four grandchildren, Sunshine Olivo, Brandon Olivo, Vaughn Olivo and Janell Olivo; three great-grandchildren, Emma Kuykendall, Allison Kuykendall and Jaron Kuykendall; four step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary McDaniel of Coal City, Ill.; and one brother, Tony Olivo of Hot Springs.

• BENTON - Joe D. Crouch, age 65, of Benton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009. He was born June 29, 1944 in Humnoke, Ark. Joe retired from Roadway Express as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman Ishman and Mary Alean Crouch Johnson; and a sister, Betty Ann Munnerlyn.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jeanie P. Crouch of Benton; two daughters, Jeana R. Stout and husband Michael of Benton, and Deana Jo Head and husband Dewey of San Antonio; son, Jerrod Crouch and wife Nicole of Benton; two brothers, James Crouch and wife Johnnie Ruth of North Little Rock, and Carroll "Buddy" Crouch and wife Ginger of North Little Rock; five grandchildren, David and Gareth Stout, Hannah and Brittan Crouch, and Audrey Hall; and one God child, Mary Katherine "Katie" Evans.

A celebration of Joe's life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at Ashby Funeral Home.

• CABOT - John Wayne Fallon, age 45, of Cabot, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009. He was born March 10, 1964 in Harrisburg to the late Nancy Jeanette Fallon-Cleveland.

He is also preceded in death by his grandparents Jimmy and Nellie Fallon.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen Dillard Fallon of Cabot; two daughters, Bailey May McDermott and Angelica Lynn Fallon of Cabot; two brothers, James Patrick Cleveland of Austin, and Jerry Dale Cleveland (Lisa) of Butlerville; step-father and step-mother R.E. • CABOT - Charles Andrew Seber Jr., 68, of Cabot passed away on Thursday Sept. 24th, 2009. Mr. Seber was born on April 5th, 1941 in Franklin, Pa., and is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Cora Seber.

Mr. Seber was a devoted family man and spent many wonderful hours enjoying time with his grandchildren. He was a collector of model trains and was a member of the Central Arkansas Model Railroad Club. He also enjoyed wood working and was an automobile enthusiast.

Mr. Seber retired from the United States Army Reserve and from Sherwin Williams in Winter Haven, Fla.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Patricia; and his children Michele (John) Milton of Jupiter, Fla., Barbara (David) Orr of Smyrna, Tenn., Veronica (Benjamin) Tice of Sherwood, and Jeannie (Ray) Campbell of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Tice, and Courtney and Lauren Sandifer; as well as several close nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home 7724, Landers Road, North Little Rock at 2 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 29th, 2009.

• CHERRY VALLEY - Robert Douglas, 62, of Cherry Valley died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at NEA Medical Center. • CONWAY - Thomas T. Horton, 90, of Conway, formerly of Marshall, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Conway Regional Health System. He was born Feb. 15, 1919, in Harriett, Ark., a son of the late Pearlie O. and Bertha (Watt) Horton. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Marshall, and an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Horton attended Friendship Baptist Church in Conway.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Wenoka (Treat) Horton; children, Clara Nell Myatt and husband Daniel of Pearcy, Ark.; Betty Horton McArthur and husband Foster of Richmond, Texas; Tommy and Donnie Horton, both of Conway; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Letha Clingings of Marshall.

Visitation will be 6 -8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway. A second visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, with funeral at 2 p.m. Dr. Bill Brown and the Reverend Ken Jordan will officiate. • GREENBRIER - Billie O'Reita Whitecotton Ross Nottenkamper, 80, of Greenbrier, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at Greenbrier Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 6, 1929 in Belleville, a daughter of the late David and Lessie Whitecotton. A graduate of Danville High School, she attended Arkansas Tech University. She completed nurse's training at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock and received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Stephens College in Columbia, Ohio. She was a member of 65th Street Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Bob Buford of Chickalah; sister, Ruby Jankowski of Little Rock; a stepbrother, Robert Buford, also of Chickalah; and by her husband, John Nottenkamper of East End.

She is survived by one sister, Pauline Meyers of Little Rock; four children, Billie Ann Jurgerson and husband, David, of Mansfield, Texas; David Ross and wife, Cindy, of Greenbrier; Joyce Jones and husband, Scott, of Burleson, Texas, and Janie Ginocchio and husband, Billy, of Paragould; four grandchildren, Stephen Jurgerson, Jacob and Alyssa Ross, and Isabella Ginocchio, as well as several nieces and nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Greenbrier Rehabilitation and Nursing Home for their love and care.

• HAZEN - Brother Charlie Perry, 85, of Hazen, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009. He was preceded in death by parents Lon and Lucy Perry and brother, Glen Perry. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Leta; three sons, Danny (Delores) Perry of Ward, Dale (Sara) Perry of Hazen, and Albert Perry of Hazen; three grandchildren, David Perry of Ward, Matt (Wendy) Perry of Hazen, and Emily (Scott) White of Carlisle; two step-grandchildren, Tania (Huey) Bush of Des Arc and Jamie (Annette) Felts of Hazen; four great-grandchildren, Kade, Mary Katherine, and Mattie Perry of Hazen, and Emma Grace White of Carlisle; three step-great-grandchildren, Kayla Bush Riley of Branson and Ariel and Colton Felts of Hazen; Brothers Noel Perry and Robert (Gussie) Perry of Hazen; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

After surrendering 50 years of service to his Lord and Savior, Brother Charlie retired a Baptist minister in 2002 having preached his first sermon at Calvary Baptist Church in Hazen on June 4, 1952. He served churches in Pleasant Ridge, Casscoe, Humphrey, Judsonia, Des Arc, Roe, and retired from the eighth church he called "home," New Bethel, near Hazen. He not only served our Lord, but also our great country as a soldier in Germany during World War II, from which he is also a Purple Heart Recipient.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Chambers Nursing Home, Arkansas Hospice, and Belinda Ingle for their excellent care and compassion.

Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 28 from 6 until 8 in the evening at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Church and burial services will be Sept. 29 at 2 p.m., at Center Point Missionary Baptist Church north of Hazen.

• HEBER SPRINGS - Kathryn Reynolds McIsaac, 80, passed away Sept. 24, 2009 in Heber Springs, Ark. She was born April 13, 1929 to Raymond G. and Alice Reynolds in Berryville, Ark. Kathryn was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs. She enjoyed as hobbies flowers, gardening, sewing, and working jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis McIsaac, of the home; one son, Chris Dawson, of Heber Springs; one daughter, Dana Goede, and husband Todd of Milton, N.H.; three step-daughters, Virginia Harrison, and husband Ted of Knoxville, Tenn., Bonnie Golden, and husband Jim of Seldotna, Alaska, Betty Slechta, and husband Mike of Ellsworth, Kan.; one sister, Wanda Hensley, of Heber Springs, Ark.; two grandchildren, Marci Clodfelter and Nicholas Goede; and many friends and relatives. • RUSSELLVILLE - Rev. William Canard Jr., 78, a resident of Russellville, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Brother Canard was born Jan. 3, 1931, at Newark, to William Grady and Rae Sutterfield Canard. He was a faithful servant of his Savior, Jesus Christ and country. He was ordained in 1957, by the McDonald Missionary Baptist Church outside of McCrory. He attended the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock where he received a Doctorate of Bible Languages Degree. He pastored churches in Illinois and Arkansas for over 45 years with the majority of them being at Russellville Missionary Baptist Church before his retirement. He served the churches of the American Baptist Association for 25 years as a member of the Standing Missionary Committee. He was also a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ed Canard; and a granddaughter, Lauren Rachelle Canard.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Peggy Ridgway Canard of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kerri Canard Couch and husband Gary of Russellville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald William and Vicki Canard of Cave City, and Brian Douglas Canard of Lowell; four brothers, Donald Canard of Austin, Texas, Bobby Canard of Newport, Danny Canard of Rogers, and Ricky Canard of Newport; two sisters, Pat Canard Honey of Hot Springs Village and Betty Canard Taylor of Gravel Ridge; four grandchildren, Tarrah and Kelli Couch, both of Russellville, Paige and Blake William Canard, both of Cave City; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at the Russellville Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Canard, the Rev. Ed Heflin, and the Rev. James Calhoun officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Rogers-Rye Post 2283, will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be David Bewley, David Howard, Kirk Dixon, Freddie Rood, Eddie Rood, George Harris, Richard Gillespie, Randy Hale, and Bill James. Honorary pallbearer is Terry Buie.

The visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at the Russellville Missionary Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cave City for the New Hope Mission Land Fund in Rogers or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

SALEM, Ala. - Memorial service for George D. Freeman, 60, of Salem, Ala. is Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel. Reverend Robert Karcher is officiating.

Mr. Freeman was born Nov. 19, 1948 in North Little Rock, Ark. He died Sept. 24, 2009 at East Alabama Medical Center. Mr. Freeman had been an resident of the Auburn area since 1988. He worked for 30 years in development and fund raising for institutions of higher education.

He is survived by wife, Julia R. Freeman of Salem; two daughters, Shelley (Chuck) Taylor of Eufaula, Ashley (Michael) Ward of Auburn; granddaughter, Haley Taylor of Auburn; parents, James D. and Kathleen Freeman of Sherwood, Ark.; three brothers, Larry (Darla) Freeman of Sherwood, Ark., Steve Freeman of North Little Rock, Ark., and Scott (Tracy) Freeman of Ponca City, Okla.; sister, Cindy (Terry) Beck, of Sherwood, Ark.
