LITTLE ROCK — Comics artist and editor Art Spiegelman will speak Oct. 6 at Hendrix College in Conway on "Comix 101.1: The Development of a Literary Comic Genre."
The free talk will be at 7:30 p.m. in Staples Auditorium, part of the college's Hendrix-Murphy Programs in Literature and Language, co-sponsored by the Crain-Maling Jewish Cultural Center.
Spiegelman is a Pulitzer Prize winner (1992) for his graphic novel, Maus: A Survivor's Tale, about the Holocaust. He and his wife, Francoise Mouly, are co-editors of a newcollection, The Toon Treasury of Classic Children's Comics.
