BENTON COUNTY — Children in kindergarten through the eighth grade can submit a creative and original design that will be used on the front of all T-shirts to be distributed to participants in the 12th annual Kendrick Fincher Youth Run and 5K Run/ Walk on May 15, 2010, in Rogers.
Judging will be based on how the design creatively incorporates the Kendrick Fincher Hydration Foundation's mission to prevent heat illness (for example: themes related to proper hydration, exercising, keeping cool). Previous winning entries can be viewed on the Web site www.kendrickfincher.org.All entries will become the property of the Kendrick Fincher Foundation and will not be returned.
Finalists will be determined by youth-run committee members, and the winner will be chosen through community voting. The winning design will be printed on 1,000 Tshirts, and the winner willreceive $100 cash. In addition, the winning child's school physical-education program will receive a $50 Best Sports gift certificate. The winner of the contest will also be recognized the day of the youth run and will receive a free T-shirt for himself and his parents.
The design can be a maximum of four colorsand should be drawn on a sheet of plain white paper, size 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches.
Entry forms are available online at www.kendrickfincher.org or may be picked up at 812 W. Cypress St. in Rogers. Any contestant who is unable to obtain an entry form may print his/her name,phone number, age, grade and school on the back of the design. Children may submit as many entries as they would like; however, each entry should have the entry information on each form. The deadline is Nov. 6. Entries should be mailed to P.O. Box 1287, Rogers, AR 72757; or be dropped off at the office.
