Fall Festival coming to Rogers on Oct. 3

— On Oct. 3, Main Street Rogers will host the fifth annual Fall Festival in the Rogers Historic District.

The Build-a-Scarecrow event will be a highlight. The first 200 families who come by Frisco Park between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. will receive supplies to assemble their own scarecrow. Materials are free, and people are encouraged to bring any creative accessories they like for their scarecrow - hats, shoes, etc.

Baked goods, coffee, hot chocolate and hot cider will befor sale, with proceeds donated to Main Street Rogers, according to a Main Street Rogers news release.

The Rogers Farmers Market will hold its sixth annual Pumpkin Fest from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It will feature fall decorations, pumpkins, gourds, corn shocks and crafts, as well as locally grown fresh produce and cut flowers.

The Downtown Hay Ride will pick up passengers at the Frisco Stage and take them on a tour of Rogers' brick-lined downtown streets at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

A fall plant sale will start at 8 a.m.

Proceeds will support the Rogers Historic District.

Paula Thompson will appear as "Granny" in a look back at how people got by during World War II.

This program is free and will be presented at 10 a.m. on the Frisco Stage at the corner of First and Elm streets.

The program will be canceled in case of inclement weather.
