Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville hosts a free seminar from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday for people facing the holidays after a separation or divorce.

“DivorceCare: Surviving the Holidays” features practical suggestions, guidance and reassurance through video interviews with counselors, experts in divorcerelated care and people who have experienced the holidays after separation or divorce.

Topics include “Why the Holidays Are Tough,” “What Emotions to Expect,” “How to Plan and Prepare,” “How to Handle Uncomfortable Situations” and “Using the Holidays to Help You Heal.”

Elsie Anne McKee will discuss the legacy of John Calvin at First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville on Sunday.

McKee is the Archibald Alexander Professor of Reformation Studies and History of Worship at Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey.

She will speak during the Sunday school hour at 9:30 a.m. and during a church luncheon at 12:45 p.m.

Trinity Full Gospel Church in Springdale hosts guest speaker Charles Trombley at 11 a.m. Sunday.

The former Jehovah’s Witness became a leader in the Charismatic Awakening movement following a “miracle healing.” He has authored seven books and a number of articles and has been featured on many television shows, camp meetings and conferences.

New Vision Church of God in Springdale hosts a bake sale at 8 a.m. today. The sale will last until goods are gone. Free coffee will be poured.

Celebrate Family Church in Rogers recently became a chapter of the Fivestar Man Initiative. The initiative is built on five core values that every strong man has within.

The group is open to all area men.

Children and families at Immanuel Baptist Church in Rogers will bring their Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes for a special dedication service at 10:15 a.m. Sunday.

The GO Piece Makers Ministry will display 30 handmade quilts, which will be carried by pastor Tom Hatley to an orphanage in Lucknow, India, at the end of the month. The theme of the day is Raise the Cross.

The United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista hosts the Watoto Children’s Choir at 7 p.m. Friday.

The choir has toured internationally since 1994 as an advocate for the 15 million children in Africa who are orphaned as a result of AIDS.

A free will offering will be given to the choir.

A family in Pea Ridge will begin a Torah study group using the names Yahweh and Yahshua exclusively. The family studies prophecy and believes that the Holy Spirit will lead them to more truth.

I have read Charles Trombley's autobiography which includes the story of how Trombley's daughter was miraculously healed by GOD, but the Trombley's then-fellow Jehovah's Witnesses attributed the healing to SATAN.
