LITTLE ROCK — WOMEN’S BASKETBALL Mississippi College downs Hendrix
Junior forward Jalessa Taylor scored 25 points and Mississippi College hit 56.5 percent of its field-goal attempts Wednesday on its way to a 72-62 nonconference victory Hendrix in Conway.
Anna Roane led Hendrix (6-2) with 13 points, while Amanda Morris (North Little Rock, Central Arkansas Christian) added 10. Taylor also had nine rebounds and six assists for Mississippi College (9-1).
Suns finish 2009 with 11-0 mark
Jenny Vining scored 20 of her game-high 24 points in the first half as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns whipped Midwestern State 82-62 at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.
Tech (11-0) won despite being outrebounded 49-35. Anna Baran and Natalia Santos each added 14 points for the Suns. Ashley Chisum finished the game with seven assists and seven steals.
