PUBLIC VIEWPOINT: Don’t Fear Fundamentalists

— Actually, Ms. Parlier, do not be fearful of religious fundamentalists. Their agenda is love. They believe eternal life is a gift from God, available to anyone who truly believes in Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior and strives to live a Christ-like life. Christ exemplified love giving His life for our sins — unconditionally.

When the Pharisees ask Jesus, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law,” Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40 (KJV).

There may be misguided Christians who are hypocritical but I find hypocrites throughout America. Government bodies prosper with them.

Nowhere in the bible will you find authority giving governments the right to steal from one citizen and give to another. Just the opposite is true. What does your neighbor owe you? Do you love your neighbor or your neighbor’s money/goods?

What would Jesus do? Many writers ask this question as if by doing so they disprove and humiliate Christian believers. It is not Christian’s words but God’s Word you challenge. God’s Law tells you what He would not do and we should not do. God commands his children in the 8th and 10th Commandments do not steal and do not covet what thy neighbor has. He would not steal from one of His children and give to another. To think otherwise is blasphemous. God’s Word is divine.

In Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, we read these words — often referred to as ‘the golden rule’: “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:12).

ObamaCare is governmenttaking wealth from one class of citizen and simply redistributes it to another under the ‘pretense’ (emphasis added) of charity. Do not confuse God’s divinity with man’s sinfulness.

With regard to progressive societies, they have a long history in world civilizations. A few well known in the 20th Century were Mao Zedong, Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Hideki Tojo, Pol Pot, Kim Il Sung, and Benito Mussolini.

When you write about Christ and Christians, speak the truth. The Christian manifesto is the Bible. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. We are not sinless but we strive to be more Christ-like every day.

Your love for your Constitution puzzles me Ms. Parlier. Do you want progressives in charge of your government — your life? The above list of progressive leaders should forewarn you what to expect under their rule.

It did matter what religious beliefs our Founding Fathers had. Christians encourage freedom and a government that lies within the people and states. Conversely, progressives are secular and believe in centralized government, which takes from and enslaves its population.
