Leyla McCalla will headline Fayetteville Roots on the Avenue on June 18 on East Avenue in downtown Fayetteville. McCalla’s critically acclaimed album, “Breaking the Thermometer,” is based on the archives of Radio Haiti and includes folk songs, interviews, found sounds and covers of songs that McCalla felt embodied the spirit of what she found in the Haitian Kreyol radio station’s history.
