Mary Alice Terry, 85, of Springdale, went to be with our Lord on March 12, 2023 in Fayetteville, Ark.. She was born on February 2, 1938 in Eureka Springs, Ark., to Ira and Rhoda Thomas Dean.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Dean and Fred Dean; and one sister, Clara Tomlinson.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Jimmy Terry of Springdale, Ark.; her daughter, Lisa Little of Little Rock, Ark.; her daughter, Kelley Whitehead (Ted) of Fayetteville, Ark.; her daughter, Leslie Thieman (Kevin) of Denison, Texas; her son, Brian Berry of Fayetteville, Ark.; four grandchildren, Ryan Thieman (Emma) of Richardson, Texas; Sarah Thieman of Denison, Texas, Brandon Martin of Vance, Ala., and Collin Whitehead of Fayetteville, Ark.; and one great-granddaughter, Avery Johnson of Brookwood, Ala.; sisters, Maxine Stokes (Joe) of Bowling Green, Ky., Oleta Kimbrough of Ofallon, Illinois, Bea Roy (Jim) of Fayetteville Ark., and Freida Webb of Skiatook, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Alice loved the Lord. She was an early riser and spent time in the Word and prayer, often before the sun had risen. Her Bible is covered with the dates of her prayers and the names of the people she prayed for. Mary Alice had the spiritual gift of helping. She was always looking out for other people and very rarely thought of herself. She was a member of Christian Life Cathedral and would often give people rides to church or bring them meals when they needed it.
Mary Alice worked for the City of Fayetteville for 18 years and retired in 2004. She loved painting, doing puzzles, reading, and playing games with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking walks with her grandchildren and spending time with them. She and her husband Jimmy liked to take long drives and trips around the country. She was a fantastic cook and loved entertaining in her home.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 18th from 12-1 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel, 705 W Meadow Ave, Springdale, Ark., with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Dixon officiating under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel.
