Ramey Reddick Herren, of Rogers, November 19, 1939- August 24, 2022. Born in Ft. Smith, Ark., Ramey was the adopted son of Ray and Eva Herren. Along with Doris, his wife of 46 years, he is survived by son, Blake of Pottsville, Ark. He was the proud grandfather to grandsons, Brad and Bryce; and great-granddaughter, Brynnleigh. Ramey attended grade school in the Fort Smith school system, graduated from Van Buren High School in 1957, and eventually earned his masters in Music Education from Arkansas Tech. His outstanding band teaching career included 18 years in Ozark, seven years at North Little Rock Ole Main and three years at Springdale High School. Ramey was passionate about jazz music. He played drums with The Jack Terry Big Band through the 90's and eventually became their conductor until 2013. Golf was a basic requirement for all of Ramey's family. He served as golf coach to both Doris and Bryce and was an excellent caddie. Together, Ramey and Doris owned ViaMedia A/V Productions, Inc. from 1985 to 2015. Their main focus was the recording of music ensembles including bands, choirs and orchestras. They recorded primarily state, regional and national convention performing groups. Ramey leaves behind an incredible musical legacy that has impacted the lives of literally thousands of people. His life philosophy, "Music Education can be a vehicle for instilling positive human values". He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, 12 pm, Hunt Chapel, 5930 South Wallis Road, Rogers, Ark.
