David Edwin Wittenburg, Jr., age 82, formerly of Springdale, died Tuesday, January 4, 2022, in Lewisville, Texas. He was born August 6, 1939, in Little Rock, Ark., to David Edwin and Carolyn Augusta (Walls) Wittenburg. David was a deeply devoted husband, father and grandfather. He attended Little Rock High School, Little Rock University and the U.S. Army Crypto School. David served in both the U.S. National Guard and the U.S. Army. He was stationed on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. David was also a very successful Sales Executive with the Gold Bond Stamp Company. His many hobbies over the years included hunting, remodeling homes, serving as president of his local homeowner's association, and raising cattle. He was very fond of Chinese Pug dogs. David married the love of his life, Patsy Jane Sivley on June 28, 1965, in Benton. She preceded him in death in March of 2020. He was also preceded in death by one grandson and one granddaughter. David is survived by four children and their spouses, Al "Bo" and Sylvia Beckum, David Dwayne Wittenburg, Donna and Henry Bailey, and Deanna Wittenburg; brother, Jim Wittenburg; sister, Nancy Alred; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 7, at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Arrangements are with Heritage Funeral Home, online obituary and guestbook at: heritageofnwa.com.
