Tom T. Hayes

Tom T. Hayes, 82, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away September 13, 2021 in Springdale. He was born September 4, 1939, in Bakersfield, Missouri, to Thomas Truman Hayes and Edna Mullens Hayes. He was wise, resourceful, ambitious and determined. Tom was a tough, but generous man who proudly served in the United States Army. His love for his family and his country was apparent to all those fortunate enough to meet him. Tom was passionate about many things in life including his work. During his career, he was a building contractor and real estate developer in Calico Rock, Mountain Home, Eureka Springs, and NW Arkansas. When it came to flooring, moldings, and lumber, his companies T&K Lumber and Hayes Hardwoods were the best in the business and serviced 40 states. He loved his work and faithfully served his customers for 60 years. While he was one of the hardest working individuals you could ever know, he was most proud of his family. He got to spend 38 years with the love of his life, Carolyn. He was also very proud of his four children and all their accomplishments. In addition, Tom was a great role model for his five grandchildren. Towards the end of his life, he enjoyed spending time on his farm that he fondly called his ‘slice of heaven'. He also adored his dog Lucy. Tom was a great husband and father and his family can rest assured they will see him again as Tom accepted Christ in his final days. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ann Amyx Hayes, Mary Sue Collins Hayes, Louis Hayes and brothers, Joseph (J.W.), Bobby K., and Phillip Hayes. Tom is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Longmate Hayes and their son, Joseph Hayes; sons, Tommy Hayes, Bert Hayes and daughter, Alicia Hayes and their mother, Karen Hayes; five grandchildren, Jessica, Harley, Nina, Ava, and Anna Hayes; two brothers, Jerry and Danny Hayes; one sister, Omega Marvin Hayes and many dear friends. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2021, at New Hope Assembly of God in Rogers, Arkansas. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at New Hope Assembly of God with Pastor James Longmate officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m., at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with military honors provided.
