Edwin Paul Bowling III, the son of Edwin Paul Bowling Jr. and Janet (McFadden) Burge was born May 15, 1983, in Bentonville, Arkansas, and departed this life on August 27, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 38 years, 3 months and 22 days. Paul was a fun-loving adventurous soul. He was always a strong man for everyone else. He was a giver, he always thought about others before himself. He enjoyed the outdoors, he loved to cook, and he had a green thumb and could grow anything. He loved animals, especially Charlie, aka. Frank. He put his heart and soul into every project he was involved in. His family meant everything to him and he loved them dearly. He loved his wife and son and his goal was to always make sure they were happy. His wife was the light of his eye's and his son always made him proud. He loved his mother and respected his step-father Rodney. He always tried to make sure that his mom was happy and taken care of, their heartbeat as one. Paul touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He loved his brothers, they thought he was a super hero. Paul had a work ethic that was quite amazing. He worked since the age of 14 either on farms or any work he could get. Paul was proud of all his work, but one of the things he was most proud of is being an ordained minister and a youth counselor. Paul has worked many other jobs including, driving a trash truck many years, a mechanic and he has even driven a semi, and he worked and traveled for Ball Corp. Something else Paul was most proud of was his diploma in mechanical engineering. At the end of the day no matter how tired he was, he worked until he got the job done and gave it his all. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Paul Bowling, Jr.; and his step-father, James Richard Held, Sr. He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife, Stephanie of the home; his son, Finnick Berry of Tahlequah; his mother and step-father, Janet and Rodney Burge; and his brothers, James Richard Held Jr. and wife Cathy of Bella Vista and Wayne Dillon Held and fiancé Emily Spencer of Rogers and uncle Carlos and Aunt Jody Qualls from Oregon. Many friends and other relatives also survive him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edwin's name to the Tahlequah Men's Shelter (Osiyo), 118 W Keetoowah St, Tahlequah, Okla., 74464. We would like to make aware to everyone the seriousness of Covid-19. Covid-19 is very dangerous and deadly to the healthy, but also to the immune suppressed. Our son Paul had received the gift of life through a new kidney. Other than weight issues and depression within the last four years, Paul was well. His immune system however, was suppressed. Paul's wife was diagnosed with Covid-19 and she quarantined at home where Paul also lived. Paul contracted Covid-19 and died on life support on August 27, 2021, at the age of 38. This is not a place to blame, but to educate people that the immune suppressed are very susceptible to Covid-19. Paul was looking forward to the vaccine for the immune suppressed. The vaccine suitable for Paul came out one week after he passed. In honor of our son, Edwin Paul Bowling III, please get the vaccine. Fight for life. Fight and please be aware of others. Paul's loving parents, Rodney and Janet Burge.
