Mary Hornor Christian, age 52, of Rogers, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, in Rogers. She was born November 14, 1968, in Helena, Arkansas, to Beverly and Edward Tully Hornor III. Mary graduated from Arkansas State University with a Masters in Education and moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1993. She spent her life as a kindergarten teacher in the Rogers Public School District for 30 years, most recently at Fairview Elementary. She truly loved the children she had the honor of teaching and would go the extra mile to show them how much she cared about them. Mary thought of her fellow teachers as her second family. She was constantly volunteering to lead special events and fundraisers at school. Mary was also a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Rogers. Mary loved to spend time with her family and friends on Beaver Lake, take frequent trips to Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and travel to new places. She could always be found driving a little too fast while listening to Prince's "Purple Rain". She expressed her love to her friends and family by devoting her time and energy through acts of service. As many of her friends and family would say, if you ever needed anything Mary was the one to call. She adored her family above all else. She spent many nights at sports games, practices, events, and extracurriculars with her three children. She was the cornerstone of the Christian and Hornor family. She was preceded in death by her father, Tully Hornor III. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Korey of Rogers; her three children, Katie Christian of Bentonville, Collin Christian of Centerton, and Carter Christian of Rogers; her mother, Beverly Hixon Hornor; a brother, Tully Hornor IV and his wife Charlene of Springdale; two nieces, Caroline Hornor of Dallas, Texas, and Catherine Hornor of Springdale; two aunts, Nannice Hornor and Dr. Mac McEvoy of Rogers, and Margie Hornor of Memphis, Tennessee, and numerous friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the Hunt Chapel in Pinnacle Memorial Gardens from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers.
