Anita Kay (Fuqua) Elery, age 79, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away peacefully Monday October 18, 2021, at her home. She was born April 4, 1942, daughter of the late Leland Leon Fuqua and Deloma Elizabeth (Weber) Fuqua. Kay graduated from Macon High School in 1960, where she performed in the band as a majorette. She worked in Human Resources at Willis Shaw Express and owned/operated a trucking brokerage business for several years. She married Charlie Odell Elery in 2003, they retired together in Bella Vista, AR shortly thereafter. Kay enjoyed spending time with her family, tap dancing with the Sophisticated Ladies, painting and volunteering at Mercy Hospital where she served for eight years. She was a great listener and always willing to talk and offer advice. As the matriarch of her family, she ensured that birthdays and holiday gatherings would be memorable moments for everyone. Kay was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Odell Elery, of Bella Vista; two children, Tammy (Randy) Breshears-Jones of Springdale, and Rhonda (John) Griggs of Bentonville; one brother, Randy (Dianne) Fuqua of Springdale; three grandchildren, Dakota (Jessica) Breshears of Springdale, Chad Griggs of Bentonville and Shayla Breshears of Springdale; two great-grandchildren, Ella Wendland and Bryan Breshears of Springdale; one niece, Lendee Fuqua of Springdale; and nephew, Brent (Tristen) Fuqua of Tontitown. A private graveside service will be held at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale Ark. We'd like to wish a special thanks to Circle of Life Hospice for their support.
