Harold McDonald, 84, of Van Buren, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 in Fort Smith. He was born May 7, 1937 in Ava, Mo., to the late Irlee and Bertha (Conklin) McDonald. He was a 1956 graduate of Fayetteville High School, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Van Buren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Gaye Lyn Smith Sample, and Sheridan McDonald; and a son, William Arden McDonald. He is survived by his wife, Vera McDonald, of the home; a daughter, Susan Graham of Van Buren; six grandchildren, Brandon, Richard, Samantha, Heather, Robert, and Thomas; and 11 great-grandchildren, Haley, Zackary, Boston, Greyson, James, Ella, Brogan, Avery, Carter, William, and Elleigh. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren. Pallbearers will be Brandon Graham, Richard Smith, Robert McDonald, Thomas Smith, Lee Kelley, and Billy Bolton.
