Howard Overton McLoud

Huntsville, AR, 1932 - 2021

Howard Overton McLoud, 89, of Huntsville, passed away October 28, at Fayetteville. He was born Wednesday, March 16, 1932, at Forum, to Hoyt Overton and Arla Mae Ham McLoud. Howard married Eidth Juanita "Nete" Hatfield on June 30, 1951, at the Huntsville United Methodist Church; they were married for 70 years and together they were parents to two sons, Rick Overton and Howard "Randy" McLoud. He retired in 1987 at the age of 55, after 30 years with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
Howard enjoyed spending time with his family and being on the farm that had been in his family all his life. Raising cattle was his passion and sharing his knowledge with his kids and grandkids brought him joy. When he wasn't farming you could find him watching a game on TV with his wife, Nete. He especially loved watching The Arkansas Razorback and his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for many years. He was a Godly man that his children and grandchildren all looked up to. He was a well respected member of the community and in his 89 years of life he left a lasting impression on all that met him.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randy McLoud; and one grandson, Cory Howard McLoud. He is survived by his wife, Nete of the home; his son, Rick McLoud and Dianne McLoud of Huntsville; four grandchildren, Cody and Robin McLoud, Chonda and Pete Morin, Derek and Athena McLoud, and Cacee and Jason Smith; eleven great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Austin, Will, Chase, Blayden, Grayson, Jaicee, Ayden, Berkley, Blane, and Addie; and one great-great-granddaughter, Aster.
Memorial services were 2 p.m., November 2, 2021, in the chapel with Lonnie Siler officiating, followed with a private interment. Services were entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
