Garry Leroy Garrison

Garry Leroy Garrison born May 26th, 1935, passed at Coper Rock Nursing home on April 20, 2021 Garry was the son of Earl Kelso Garrison Sr. and Mary Ella (Robinson) Garrison in Springdale, Ark. Garry married Bonnie Loretta (Todd) Garrison of Springdale on December 24, 1955. Garry served 20 years in the Marine Corps. Garry spent one tour in the Korean War, and two tours in Vietnam War. In 1970 he moved his family to Ava. Mo., while finishing his last year in N. Carolina. After retiring he came back to Ava, Mo., to be with his family. In the early 1970s, Walmart built their first store in Ava; Garry was hired to help set up the new store. After the setup he was hired to work in the Sporting Goods section and other part of the store. Then Garry and Bonnie moved to Nolands Point, Mo., where Garry enjoyed his hobby of fishing. Garry went on to become a licensed Fishing Guide. As they got older, they moved to Marshfield, Mo. to be near his son, Melvin Garrison. Garry was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of 64 years, Bonnie; his brother, Dale R. Garrison in Korea.; sisters, Juanita Elliot and husband, Leroy, Merle Bookout and husband, Ralph, Leila McCarty and husband, Doyle, and Luara Allen and husband, Robert; and one great-great-grandson, Luke Ryan Tompkins. Garry was survived by is two sons and spouses, Dale Garrison and wife, Sheila, Melvin Garrison and wife, Marlana.; one brother, Earl K. Garrison and wife, Mary; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters. Garry was cremated and service for him will be at the Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, Ark., on June 19th at 10 a.m.
