Barbara Ann Tomlinson passed away peacefully June 4, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark., surrounded by her children. She was 91 years old. Barbara was born on September 26, 1929, in the small town of Guion, Ark., in Izard County to Myrtle and Herbert Hall. She was the third of their seven children. After graduating from high school she went on to study nursing at Arkansas College in Batesville where she met her husband of 52 years, Dempsey "Bud" Tomlinson. Together they had four children and lived in six states, finally settling in Fayetteville, Ark., where they founded Tomlinson Asphalt Company. Barbara was a nurse with a lifelong devotion to learning how to best care for others both inside and outside her home. She is remembered for her enormous heart and unyielding support of her loved ones. She was her own worst critic, but it is well known she was beautiful, looked cute in everything she wore, kept a warm and tidy home, was a wonderful cook and had great hair. She was a member of The Church of Christ all her life; a devoted Christian who lived her faith through uplifting others and supporting them gently. Barbara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Hayley Tomlinson; her daughters, Melissia "Pettie" Tomlinson and Mary Tomlinson; her brothers, Mitchell Hall and Chris Hall; her grandchildren, Amber Forbus, Jason Wade, Megan Wedgworth, Leah Tomlinson, and Jonathan Wade, as well as 10 great-grandsons. She is predeceased by her husband Dempsey "Bud" Tomlinson and their daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Clifford Wade. Visitation will be held 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Friday June 11, 2021, at Mount Comfort Church of Christ with funeral service to being at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Comfort cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations in honor of Barbara go to The Salvation Army https://give.salvationarmyaok.org/give/186562/#!/donation/checkout or the foreign missions of the Mt.
